Avitohol Fauna: Altivor
The barbaric citizens of Avithol lived and died by the possession of the vast herds of gargantuan bovine creatures though to have been genetically engineered from the yaks of Old Earth and bought to Avitohol at some point during the Dark Age of Technology. These Beasts have some such prodigious appetites that they must continually migrate across the endless plains and they are so massive and stubborn that all the nomad tribes could do was follow along in their wake or on their backs.

Avitohol Flora: Sapo’Weou
This red fern grows in the moderate forests of Avitohol, primarily, but not exclusive to, the western forests of the Penira Lowlands. The plant is highly toxic, and most animals will not get near the fern which excretes a highly hallucinatory toxin that will cause a ‘mind wipe’ of sorts for any animal that consumes a concentrated dose.
The Avitohol people actually seek out the Sapo’Weou. Once harvested under a very careful process, the plant is boiled down, and its juices strained. The toxin that is produced from the plant is then mixed in extremely low doses with black grape wine (called Nagell by itself). The result it Sapo’Nagell, a highly intoxicating beverage used mostly in religious and tribal ceremonies. Another Sapo drink is Drava’Sapo, or just Sapo Beer. Though this drink has even less Sapo’Weou than Sapo’Nagell, it is still popular and drunk more heavily than the wine.
Sapo’Weou can also be cut with lo Sticks. This narcotic, Sapo’Lo, is highly regulated, as most people who smoke the addictive hallucinatory drug become raving lunatics—often with violent ends. One nickname for this spiked lo stick is ‘Berserker Smoke’.
Weaponized Sapo’Weou has been produced, but only by the secretive Menjann tribes of the south Penira Lowlands, who deliver the concentrated drug via long blow guns.

Avitohol Fauna: Avonaco Bear
This is one of the few predators of the Altiocor but its only near the edge of the arctic circles. Avonaco bears, just Avonaco to the locals; are a danger to anyone who ventures into their territory. These large bears use patience and ambush tactics to strike at its prey. It is through a few factors that the Avonaco hasn't made a bigger impact on the Altiocor and the nomads. The Avonaco have a low birth rate, 1 or 2 cubs per two year; long hiberation, migrating food source and hunting.
The hunting isnt a main factor but happens for three reasons. Firstly, if an Avonaco stalks a tribe or herb for too long causes substanial losses and has to be killed. Secondly, the year of the bear and this happens roughly every 25 years. For some reason, the number of Avonaco increases about this time and they venture farther from the artic circle. So some tribes used this time as a rite of passage of strength and courage. Thirdly, Orks, they hunt the Avonaco too but more for fun than anything else. Luckily the Avonaco's low numbers have made them elusive along with seeming smarter than most Orks in the hunting game.
